Nov 18, 2009
I know, 9 weeks isn't that far along, but the excitement is that I KNOW how far along I am. We did the ultrasound for dates, and with this comes a due date! I wished that I was further along, as I kind of hoped for a birthdate of oct 29 (mom's birthdate). I am no longer really wishing for this because it would be 3 weeks early.
My friend Christy went with me to the ultrasound (craig had to work) and we both cried a little. It was amazing looking at the screen and seeing the little heart flutter.
Then we went to wal-mart to show Craig the pictures and the update. He was sooo happy and seems SO excited! I love seeing it.
So I'm VERY excited, but it's been a very muted excited due to not feeling very well. It's sooo worth it, though!

HEYYYYY BABY!

Holy crap! YAHOO! So sunday night I decided to go for it and pee on the stick. Really, truly didn't think I was, but acknowledged to myself that it was possible. I was sick of wasting money on the tests so literally up until sunday when we were out and about wasn't going to buy one.
Well we had cleaned out the garage that day so I was feeling all dusty and dirty. Decided to hop in the shower before we all watched a movie. Decided to pee on the stick before the shower (still not really thinking it would show anything) . Well NEEDLESS to say, when I got out and looked down I FREAKED OUT! Craig got really excited as soon as I showed him, after he asked if I was sure "it's not very dark". I told him "pink is pink is pink" it's positive! Then the phone calls and text messaging began!! Yea, I briefly thought about at least waiting until I set up and went in to see the dr, but then realized I couldn't contain myself and my mouth! So......that was the end of that!
So far not feeling too bad. Just waiting for the nausea (hoping it doesn't rear its head too badly!) and the exhaustion to set in. So far I'm tired, but I've also picked up an extra 6 hrs already this week and couldn't exactly sleep monday or tues nights!!!
Haven't been to the dr yet, that's april 2nd. Have pretty much figured out that I'll be due the begining of november sometime.
Those that have seen me freak out with excitement will know what that means. Those of you that have not seen this....well......picture squealing and jumping and shaking, you might get it!

Painting!
So I decided that I was tired of not doing anything with my house so I have decided that I'm painting the spare bedroom. Now this is the bedroom that I plan to use as a nursery (if/when) this happens so I am keeping this in mind as I paint and fix it up. I figured I have some days off in a row so *hopefully* I can get it done before I'm back!! Here's crossing my fingers. It's *my* first big project.

Shame on me!
Wow, has it really been this long??!! I have to get better at this! Well, Arizona was fantastic. We had a great time, dad was great and didn't get too upset when we flew our seperate ways in Denver. He's actually been doing a bit better lately. I think it's because we have been planning things fairly frequently so he hasn't had big lengths of time without seeing people. We met up in Arkansas in November again since gas prices had come down so much and I had a few days off. We suprised my sister, her kids, and my brothers kids. It was a RIOT! I just walked in that night that I got to my sisters and her mouth dropped! Dad did the same thing the next afternoon and she started crying she was so happy! I love doing that.
We were not planning to drive down again for awhile but then dad asked if we could meet up in January to do Christmas together and, of course, I had to say yes! So big plans this weekend to get together in Arkansas at my sisters to have our family Christmas. This time Craig even gets to go!! Most of the time I make the trip to Arkansas by myself since I can get the days off without actually taking time off. He doesn't like to drive down friday after work just to come back on sunday, so he always has to take a day or two of vacation to make it worthwhile to him. But he's great and doesn't mind me going by myself, because he knows I don't want to only go down once or twice a year. (not nearly enough for me!)
So here's to a great trip again!

Arizona here we come!
So we are going to Arizona on thursday morning to visit the g-parents. My dad's family. While they are not my favorite people in the world, they are family and seeing as how my grandfather's health is not good, away we go. I'm very thankful right now that my cousin Lori moved to the same town this summer as my g-parents. She ROCKS. Her family (my dad's brother) live in Iowa and are fabulous. They are the only ones that have been there for EVERY important event in my life. (My one other uncle would have been, but circumstances did not allow him. He's pretty cool too) So needless to say I'm pretty pumped that I will be able to see her!!
And I have decided that I'm INCREDIBLY lucky to have some pretty amazing friends. Several of them are going to make the 3 hour drive down to where my g-parents live to see me!
My grandmother was very irritated when I finished my travel nursing in Arizona because I chose to spend a day in Phoenix hanging out with my friends on a pub crawl on the saturday after my last shift. It was soo much fun, and they really all wanted to spend that time with me before I left. We were moving my father the following Monday to Texas. Her thoughts were that I should have come immediately to my father's the day I was finished so we could leave a whole one day sooner. Of course, she didn't tell me this, just my father. She was quite passive aggressive and (stupidly) asked me how it went when we finally all met up in Texas. *evil grin* I literally followed her around showing her pictures (that she obviously didn't want to see) and talking about my friends and how it meant so much to me and them to spend that last time together. If she didn't want to know, she shouldn't have asked. lol
I can't wait to see her face when a couple of them drive the 3 hrs to see me at her place. =)
Ok so maybe I'm being a little passive aggressive too, and I really am glad that I'm going to see her. I just hate when she treats my father like a child that has misbehaved. And like our family is incapable of making adult decisions.
Anyway, moral of the story is....I'M REALLY REALLY excited to get there. I really want to spend time with the g-parents and hang out. And I'm really really crossing my fingers that they don't belittle my father. Lord knows he doesn't need that.

Friends
So I *LOVE LOVE LOVE* it when my friends meet and instantly love each other. =) Believe me when I say this has NOT been my history!! I tend to be friends with all different sorts of people and they don't necessarily get along.
When I was traveling in Arizona for work I met Ashley (my smashley). We almost literally instantly hit it off. I mean the day we met we totally clicked!! She went off to Europe for 4 weeks and as soon as she got back wanted to get my number so we could hang out. It was great. For the remainder of the time I was there, we were inseperable!
Fastforward from Nov to Jan. I'm working in Kansas City now and home on many of my days off. It's my birthday and Smash has come up from Arizona to spend it with me. My bestest friend Becca is up from Arkansas to celebrate our birthdays together as well. They meet. Smash said it perfectly. She learned that when you meet your best friends other best friend....it makes you instant friends. And it did.
Fastforward AGAIN...=) to just last weekend. My Erin and James went to Arizona for her 30th birthday. VERY sad that I was not able to go, but unfortunatly could not. Erin, James and Smash met. Again, instant friends.
It's ever so nice that my best friends can be friends with each other.
